After finishing my sim rig, I'm yearning for a new project.

And I’ve found it. I’m going to install a functioning power panel in my RC field box.

Something like this:

It’ll require a little lead-acid battery and a small pump for nitromethane fuel. I’m going to the junkyard tomorrow to get a windshield washer pump.

How’s your sim build been treating you?

I love it. It’s in two pieces right now since I recently moved. I’m gonna redesign it to feature a quick release latch between the seat and wheel modules.

Nice! I dismantled mine as well when I moved (in that I took the seat off) in June; unfortunately a ever-slowing computer with a seemingly-failing graphics card has prevented me from getting very much use out of it at all, though I’m working on remedying that somewhat soon.

I’m still considering revising how the pedals are mounted as well, since it gets a little uncomfortable after a while (it’s like you’re pressing them too far or something).

My seat was a pain in the ass to put in and it’s now threadlocked in, so there was no way I was going to remove that. Luckily my build was somewhat modular. I just had to remove the floor and unscrew the two brackets holding the two modules together.
